In August 2022 one of our long-standing team members joined a small team of others in building an independent foodbank. When they began this journey, they were helping 6-8 families at a time, this figure has steadily grown and they are now helping 89 families.
The foodbank is completely independent and therefore does not benefit from any donations from the large supermarkets. They are part of the food waste scheme which allows them fresh produce donations which would be otherwise binned, this means the team collect the food from the stores when they are closing at 9pm. Otherwise, they are completely reliant on the generosity of doners.
We would love to support this worthwhile charity further by raising awareness and receiving donations. They run on a Wednesday each week and we would be very grateful if you have any items from the following list which you would be happy to donate. Food can be dropped into the surgery for collection each Tuesday.
